CCP Kenya occasionally has special needs. Here are our campaigns that are for specific purposes to help those in our community with exceptional circumstances.

DONATION FOR AFFECTED FAMILIES WITH FLOODS

$8,256.00 raised

Food relief campaign for Families Affected by Recent Floods Over the past month, our country has experienced heavy rainfall that has caused severe flooding in many areas. As a result, several families have been displaced from their homes due to waterlogging, while others are unable to access their houses because roads have become impassable. Through our REACH Program, we are launching a Food Campaign to help raise funds to purchase food for families affected by the recent floods. Many of these families have lost their businesses and sources of income, leaving them without any means to put food on the table. This campaign aims not only to provide food supplies but also to support families with essential items such as mattresses, blankets, cushions, and seating, helping them regain comfort as they rebuild their lives.  Our goal is to ensure that no family goes hungry as they work towards rebuilding their lives. We kindly invite you to partner with us in this initiative through Donating funds to support the purchase of food supplies. A total of 42 families have been affected as of 31st March, 2026. We are seeking donations of approximately $14,130, with each family receiving $336.43. Thank you for standing with us as we serve and support families in need.

Gift - Additional needs to be met for special circumstances

Friends and Family,   This effort is in support of Gift Fadhili Likanga. Gift has been a part of the CCP family since he was 5, when my family began his monthly sponsorship of $75/month (the standard CCP sponsorship).   In early 2025, (when Gift was 11), Gift was diagnosed with stage 4 bone cancer. Initial treatment consisted of 5 rounds of chemo and an above the knee amputation, which was successful in dealing with the cancer cells in his leg. However, a post-surgery full body scan revealed that the cancer had spread to his lungs. After three additional rounds of chemo, a follow up scan showed no improvement in his lungs.   At that time, having reached the limits of their treatment options, the doctors at Kenyatta National Hospital referred Gift out of country for ongoing treatment. They made it clear that timing was critical.   After a period of prayer and anxiety, we began an effort to bring Gift to the U.S for treatment.   Since then, we have seen God move mountains:   to get Gift and Violet admitted to City of Hope Kenyan Passports and U.S. medical visas expedited and delivered\ plane tickets provided US based healthcare plan sourced and activated City of Hope oncology care team moving Gift from assessment to surgery in 1 month. assessment and plans to fit Gift with a prosthetic, post-surgery recovery.   All of Gift's care to date on ongoing is paid for with your support.   Our initial fundraising goal was "one year of care", with a back of the envelope pro-forma budget that was quickly thrown together.   After a better understanding of the costs, we learned that our initial "one year budget" was probably overstated, with less needed in year 1. However, we did NOT plan on sustaining Gift in the future. We have learned that there will be ongoing costs once Gift moves back to Kenya that will require assistance, in two key areas: ongoing prescription medicine, and prosthetic maintenance through his growth years. Below is the revised expected need. This includes U.S. based care as well as sustained support in future years.   US-based expenses:   Expected travel expenses, round trip (Gift and Violet): $5k Unsubsidized medical insurance policy (California): $6k (9 months @ $675/month) Maximum out of pocket medical insurance co-pay: $5k max out of pocket In country expenses: budgeting $6.75k (9 months @ $750/month) Sustained support: Medicine (18 months): $6k (estimated!) Prosthetic support, 4 years of growth/adjustments: $10k (estimated!)   These estimates are educated guesses; we will update these estimates as we have more firm costs.   Will you please pray about partnering with us to provide for Gift? One-time gifts OR monthly gifts would be an incredibly blessing!   When you click the "make a donation" button at the BOTTOM of this page, you will have the opportunity to set up a giving profile, and the option to make a one time or recurring TAX-DEDUCTIBLE donation. Thank you for your support through prayer and giving!   Sincerely, Gift's extended, global support community
